Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver Area Leaf Growing Plan aligned with regional strategy.
  • Ensure crop size meets industry demand and supports import substitution.
  • Supervise field teams to implement agronomic best practices and maintain quality standards.
  • Drive adoption of Integrated Crop Management (ICM) and sustainability programs.
  • Lead training for field staff and farmers on agronomic practices, IPM, and chemical safety.
  • Support farmer profitability through cost reduction and yield improvement strategies.
  • Ensure implementation of BAT's Growing Excellence framework and Integrated Farming System (IFS).
  • Generate and implement innovative ideas for improved crop outcomes.

Stakeholder Management

Internal: Product Manager, Leaf Growing Manager, Finance Team, etc.
External: Farmer associations, District administration, PTB, Agriculture and Forestry departments.

Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Soil Science, or Forestry.
  • 2–3 years of experience in agricultural fieldwork (preferably in tobacco or similar crops).
  • Knowledge of agronomic practices, crop management, pest/disease control, and agricultural inputs.
  • Understanding of tobacco leaf grading, pre-blending, and lab analysis interpretation.
  • Strong interpersonal, coordination, and analytical skills.
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
